The Argonauts by Maggie Nelson

partly memoir, partly essay, it explores a variety of themes including identity, gender, motherhood, family. I really enjoyed this hybrid structure, with quotes scattered here and there alongside further elaboration and personal experiences. I've found the writing style to be a mix of witty and cynical but also somewhat romantic and heartwarming.
A sort of recurring theme/metaphor, which I think is very well picked, is that of Argo, i.e. what is it that defines us, if we change bit by bit in what is an eternal becoming?
The book has a fair amount of references (both explicit and not) and I think I couldn't appreciate it fully due to ignorance, but I think it's still enjoyable.
