The Bachelor Earl by Darcy Burke

4.0

So, so much fun!

This is a prequel of sorts to Ms Burke's Untouchables series, but also (I hope!) the beginning of a new series? One based on the others at the house party, maybe? It can absolutely be read without having read anything else by the author, but if you've at least read [b:The Forbidden Duke|29509485|The Forbidden Duke (The Untouchables, #1)|Darcy Burke|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1458004025l/29509485._SY75_.jpg|49675978], you're bound to love it that much more.

I really enjoyed watching Genie and Edmund fall in love--though technically, he was already in lust with her since the first time he'd seen her before she was married--and I LOVED that Ms Burke let Genie have a perfectly lovely first marriage and fall in love a second time (though of course she had to be dragged there kicking and screaming, otherwise, where's the fun?) The book's end nicely segues into The Forbidden Duke, if you haven't read it yet; I'm going to just sit here patiently, though, and see what the author has in store for us next.

Or *maybe* I'll re-read Eleanor and Titus's story in the meantime, just because :)
