She Drives Me Crazy by Kelly Quindlen

5.0

⚠️No spoilers necessarily however I do go into details on my opinions of the charaters so be weary of that I guess⚠️

For the first part of the book scottie is very much a pick me girl, however irene seems to balance her out basically going, 'you arn't the main character in some cheesy romance movie.' And yes she is a main character but it just makes it seem more realistic and less cringy I guess.
I love irene's outlook on life she is honestly opinionated and unapologetically herself even if it does take her time to open up and admit certain things. She always tries to appear above it all, peoples opinions of her sexuality and anything else they might have an opinion on, she just keeps her head high and I admire her for that.
I understand Charlotte was supposed to be a terrible person and she was meant to impact the story but her character seemed a bit obsessive over irene. I understand because of Charlotte's and irene's history it makes sense but it just seemed to hash, was it realistic to a certain extent yes, but her character was just a lot for me.
Overall I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good LGBT read
