The Boy from the Mish by Gary Lonesborough
4.0

I am very late to read the best-selling, award-winning The Boy From the Mish by Gary Lonesborough so I'll keep it brief and say, like everyone else, I loved it, too.

Set in rural Australia, The Boy from the Mish is about Indigenous gay teenager Jackson, who discovers he has feelings for Tomas, a boy living with his Aunty Pam. Jackson is faced with the challenge of exploring who he is, even if it scares him.

This is such an important, beautiful, moving book. It's been on my TBR pile (for, ahem, years) and I wish I'd read it sooner. I wish it had existed when I was a teenager living in country Queensland, and I'm so glad it exists now.
