When I first heard of Taylor Jenkins Reid, it was because of this book. I thought the cover was beautiful and the description was not what I expected from the look of the book, but I was desperate to know more about the Riva family. It is a wonderful book with wonderful character development for some of its characters, but not all of them. I was most disappointed with the storyline of Kit as I feel that she was only allowed to have her story because of the men around her. She only knew she liked girls because a boy kissed her, I wish she had more time to get into that. And she’s only allowed to be the best surfer in the family because Jay no longer can. I saw someone mention that Taylor Jenkins Reid was building a new Hollywood in her books and I think it is so fascinating to see each part of the piece coming together. I look forward to her next book!
