The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome
by Tony Attwood
During a recent plane flight I finally read a decent chunk of this book. It is definitely more clinical than other books I've read, and it is superb. My latest realization, that the book describes in detail, is some of the coping mechanisms that Ben uses that have been driving me crazy. Understanding them better and recognizing them for what they are--attempts to make sense out of the environment--instead of pure behavior problems, has really given me some much needed compassion.
