This book was delightful. Set in a lakeside Michigan town, it follows two writers suffering from writer’s block who make a bet to switch genres for the summer. I picked this up “just to try it” and ended up not being able to put it down until I finished it. The dialogue and banter was top-tier and had me laughing out loud. And it made me cry. Twice. I was really rooting for these two emotionally inept dummies to fall in love!

I wasn’t super invested in anything that went on outside of the romance. Everything to do with New Eden or Sonya really took a backseat while the romantic storyline developed, and I wish those elements had been more fleshed out.
