Icebreaker by Hannah Grace

4.0

Anastasia is a figure skater. She and her partner Aaron do everything together, just like the best of friends. They even live together. I love that she is a control freak with her schedule. Her relationships are interesting, with friendships and friends with benefits.

Nathan is an ice hockey player and a typical college senior. I’m not sure what he has to do with the other characters we were getting to know. Ah, a school prank seems to connect them, I think.

Nathan and Anastasia have a love-hate relationship, but they get steamy anyway. This story involves a lot of typical college sports and parties. While some of it is steamy, the rest has great banter, but where is the story going?

The start of romance, or at least purely physical attraction, makes more sense, and you quickly get wrapped up in it. This book is steamy enough to melt the ice at the rink. So a bunch of steamy scenes later, some inter-sports drama, and now Nathan, the hockey player, is helping Anastasia on the ice.

The book ends cutely, and it is quite the college sports romance. I like the story personally enough to read other books by this author. However, it was way more sports-related than expected and had fewer winter vibes, even with all that ice. There is some mention of it, and the title is very fitting. Anastasia and Nathan are a cute couple, and their intimacy is all over the storyline, from steamy to all the little ways they show their love. I didn’t like Aaron from the beginning. Something about his character just never fit. Also, the book had a lot of college drama and experiences.
