Berlin Diary: The Journal of a Foreign Correspondent, 1934-1941 by William L. Shirer

5.0

This is the type of non-fiction book that I enjoy. While I was disappointed to find that this only covered the first half of the war (I've already ordered the second book) it's the part of the war that I don't know much about. Definitely a good first hand insight into what was going on. It was interesting to see how much was censored by the German media/military and how they twisted the facts to meet their needs. Very informative and interesting read. Plus being in a journal/diary format made it much easier to read and not so much like a history textbook. I learned a lot from this; looking forward to getting the next one in the mail
