this is one of the most important history books you could read. while i knew a little about columbus and the early colonization of america i learned a lot about the effects colonization has had on indigenous communities and the whole of the united states, as well as the genocides that continued happening throughout all of american history. you can't tell the true story of the united states without the story of the indigenous people who were here first, and everyone should read this book (4.5)
