The Children of Gods and Fighting Men by Shauna Lawless
4.0
I love books where lore/mythology and religion collide. This book is no exception. Lawless writes in a way that evokes atmosphere and emotion. Another of my favorite things.
However, I do have to admit to a bit of boredom. I'm not a character driven reader. This books focuses on the characters and while there are many moving parts to this story, I did think that too much happened off page to keep my interest. It wasn't enough for me to set the book aside but it did override my enjoyment at times putting this book at a 3.5 instead of the five star I had predicted.
I will definitely continue with the series though. Next time, I will be more aware of what I am getting myself into.
