City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

5.0

This is a brilliant start to the best series I have ever read. I'm not lying, exaggerating or saying this because I've just read it and it still hasn't worn off. Actually, I read this about 6 months ago, and no, it still hasn't worn off.

The characters are well thought out, and even though I had my doubts when I first saw the third person POV, surprisingly, it added to the book. It was a nice change to not have some whiny teen's thought cloud a book. Not that I'm saying Clary's whiny - she's one of my favourite lead heroines.

Jace is everything you could want in a character - intriguing, gripping, full of personality and more...
Though every character is amazingly described, making me like them all, Jace is by far my favourite. You see the characters adapt through out the book, and the two follow-ups.

The plot isn't overly original, but Cassandra Clare makes it her own. She gives it an unique, exciting twist that grips the reader and pretty much forces them to love the book.

If you haven't already, read this book. I got it because there was a 3 for 2 deal on at the bookstore, and I couldn't find a suitable third book. Then I saw this and thought it would do. I forgot about it, but when I finally read I had to buy the other books in the series: it was just so amazing.
So give it a try, you won't regret it.
