The Romance Library
by Olivia Spring
7.5/10
olivia spring’s newest romance follows jess, a hardworking woman struggling with her estranged love of reading, when she’s left some money in a woman’s will to open a romance library in the small town of sunshine bay. unfortunately (or fortunately depending on who you ask), the property she has to buy to claim the money is also sought after by Henry Cavill look-a-like, Theo, who intends to win the property for his father’s company in order to become the next CEO.
this book is set in Great Britain and holds all the charm of fish and chips and lovely banter while also serving as an ode to the Bookstagram/Booktok community, serving as the book in which every booktokker dreams would happen to them. it is indeed very smutty and strays from the usual vanilla deeds done in some other books while also keeping its sense of humor and silliness.
i was hesitant at first of the book when first beginning to read it as its quite different than other romances and really leans into the genre and how romances have really lent themselves to modern media. however, within 25% of the way through, i was hooked and excited to see how long jess and theo could hold out before they kissed (and other things..) each other senseless. a great romance read for people shrouded within the romance book community and full of everything you’d think of when you think romance.
i am pleased to say that i received an Advanced Reader’s Copy of The Romance Library to review honestly and truthfully.
