Before We Say Goodbye by Toshikazu Kawaguchi

now why would I read a book with the same things repeated over and over again... that's a question I've been asking myself as well.

in this book we actually go back in time ... so the timeline is basically the time right after the timeline of the first book.
in this sequel we have... again...some new characters introduced... and then wanting to back in time to fix certain things. we have a husband who'd like to go back to visit his wife before she went into the vegetative state, we have a pet parent wanting to meet their pet again for closure purposes, we have a gheesa Peeta recycled love story again and we have a daughter wanting to meet his father to fix her relationship with him.

the first story had this character Kadakora and at first I felt like he was so Tahoora coded- complete crack head with no filter on

he was still an a****** though does that make me one too? shit

I like how this time we had a pet as well as one of the... 'sub characters' if I may.

but here I really started feeling like some stories were the same as the previous one's
.. especially that dealt with romance ...just recycled with a slight changes ... basically if one story was paneer kadhai then the other was paneer makhani...

the story that dealt with the daughter and father duo was an interesting one .. here the daughter goes back and time to make his father smile for once or be good to him as they werent on good terms before that.... the father had died on in the great eastern earthquake on March 11, 2018 ...even tho story is fictional I like how it was inspired by real life events.

but if I had to judge this book the way I judge general literary fiction books... it was very underwhelming .... it has some great factors too so I'd go with a neautral 2.5 ⭐for this one.

Overall the stories in the series make you reflect on your life a lot ....the "wrong" decisions you might have made ...this book makes you want to make things right while our loved ones are still alive.

I really felt certain stories in my bones and it definitely made me emotional and think about things a lot. So it's really that kind of series that changes your perspective on life and demands you to live in the present and make the most of whatever you have. always speak Up if there is something you'd like to tell someone because that might be the last time you will be seeing them and to always be kind to everyone around you, especially your loved ones.

it's a great series that way because of what it's trying to teach you, and after I've said all of this it feels wrong to say that it still wasn't something amazing. But it is what it is.

if I had to rate the whole series ..I'd say it was a 3/5⭐
