I really wanted to love this book, and I would definitely like to spend more time with Luca Laine Thomas - the mixed race, plus size, queer main character - rather than the world of Parris Island. The mysteries were a little bit underwhelming, and the idea of the curse isn't ever really explored. It's one that I think the teens in my library will enjoy and I'll definitely look out for more books by this author as there's a lot to like there.
