Inkdeath
by Cornelia Funke
"Inkdeath" is the thrillingly sensational final book to Cornelia Funke's outstanding "Inkheart" trilogy. There are so many books that I have read where the characters just do not seem real, but Funke has an incredible talent in making her characters incredibly believable. Some of them, like Mo and Meggie are endearing till the end, and others like Orpheus and the Adderhead are very believably vile and loathsome.
This book took me on a fantastic journey through the ink world. I was enchanted by the sheer depth of the world that Funke has created. Her creations have left an indelible imprint on my heart and imagination. There are so many twists and turns in this book and we, the readers, are constantly thrilled and alarmed by what is possible. It truly is a wonderful book.
While I was incredibly impressed by her final installment of this trilogy, I am sad to leave it behind me, but also very much enamored of the world and characters she so beautifully crafted on the page. This book will always be a favorite of mine and I am proud to have it among my collection.
