The Lonely Lake Killings by Wes Markin

I am really enjoying these series. A good procedural, with an interesting relationship between the two main police in the story, but also interesting case for them to solve. There were some topics in this book that were a bit heavier than what I was looking for from a book like this, but they were almost always treated respectfully and didn't feel like they were exploited too much. Even where some of the characters initially seem like caricatures, those get edges worn down and the characters feel more real the more time we spend with them. I will definitely be looking for book 3
