I enjoyed the book but I think my expectations were too high. I liked Mary Jane and unlike my bookclub, I liked her mom too. Was she over protective? Yes. Was she too traditional? Yes. And was she overly concerned about appearances? Yes.
She reminded me of mothers I knew growing up. I didn’t know many women like Mrs. Cone.
Sheba and Jimmy were an interesting rockstar couple. 
Mary Jane and Izzy were like siblings so I love that Mary Jane learned how to be more independent as Izzy’s nanny. 

My main issues were that I didn’t find a big change in emotion. I like my books more angst filled and other than the ending surprise, it was pretty even keeled.
