Beautiful Music for Ugly Children by Kirstin Cronn-Mills
4.0

"When you think about it, I'm like a record. Elizabeth is my A side, the song everybody knows, and Gabe is my B side--not heard as often, but just as good.

It's time to let my B side play."

The only reason this book isn't five stars is really petty--I just didn't finish it right away. Sometimes, I felt like there were lulls in the story. I was also reading this while I was in school, so there's a 92% chance that this is actually five stars and I was being ridiculous while reading this while I was in school.
Otherwise, I loved this book. I liked how there were people who got high on music--the only books I've read that makes older music the character's life are on Wattpad. Not that they're bad, but this book brings up more topics than just music and romance. I love how the book ended. I love the issues that it brought up--even ones that I should have expected but did not. I love how it taught the reader something--and the reader learned from it.
I love the "Note from the author" at the end. It gave me more insight into the LGBTQIA+ community.
You must read this book. And come on, the summary is actually well written, in my opinion. Short and makes the reader curious.

And this book is recommended to everyone. It doesn't matter whether you're gay, straight, bisexual, asexual, etc.--this book is as important to straight people as it is to LGBTQIA+ people.
