This book is written in very simple prose, I would almost say that it better fits J FIC than YA if it were not for the subject matter. The love story is exciting, the discussion of interracial dating & race in general is well done and incredibly relevant 20+ years on, it will also break your heart. The ending is sudden and intense as these stories often are, so full of promise, hope, and love, only to end without warning. Would definitely recommend to teens and adults.
