Hellboy in Mexico by Mike Mignola, Gabriel Bá, Fábio Moon, Richard Corben, Mick McMahon

4.0

This is a selection of comics that deals with a few months of Hellboy’s life when he was in Mexico during 1956. He spends most of his time fighting monsters down there, drinking too much and doing some work as a luchador. It is nice seeing a slice of his life where everything in the world isn’t in the balance of the fight. People that Hellboy cares about do die and he does some less than brilliant stuff but that is part of what makes Hellboy a great character. A good read and the plus is that it doesn’t need to be read before or after any of the other collections.
