I love the paranormal genre, I love shifters and I adore cats and this book here has everything included, so I had high expectations for it and certainly was not disappointed.

The concept of it was thought out well and the storyline was packing. It has a satisfying ending for the first part but also gives hints at what will come in the next books and it definitely sounds promising. It had some surprising plot twists in it and certainly does not back away from darker themes either so this is nothing for weak hearted people (although the fact that she is an assassin already gives some warnings as well of course).

Kat is a great protagonist. She has confidence and I like it a lot that she does her own thing. The best thing for me though, are the scenes in which she talks with the cats. It was certainly a cool idea of the author to get inspiration from real life cats because I could clearly see my own two kittens within some of them (actually practically all of them, when it came to the food discussion). But the discussions themselves were thought out greatly as well because I can imagine that would be the exact way cats would think if they could speak.

Another big plus is the fact that the romance(s) will take their time. We get the two guys already (if my guess about the second one is right) but since this is a series, nothing much has happened yet and this is honestly great. The focus lies on the storyline and the introduction of the characters so far and nothing seems rushed that way. I’m looking forward to how these stories will play out though.

In conclusion, I can say, that the book is a clear recommendation from my side. It has everything I like in a paranormal book and it was thought out implemented really well. I will definitely read more of this series. Therefore, this book gets well deserved five stars from my side.
