The New Bottoming Book by Dossie Easton, Janet W. Hardy

3.0

A companion to 'The New Topping Book', 'The New Bottoming Book' left me with a lot ofthe same feelings. A lot of the information being the same, only obviously more geared toward the 'bottom' or more 'submissive' side of BDSM.
A guide mostly for beginners, there are a lot of useful tips, tricks, and reassurances. Again, I found that I knew most of the information prior to picking the book up.
I was honestly a bit surprised after reading reviews that called this book 'inclusive' that I found some sections, particularly those on 'gender play' sounded a touch problematic to me, a transgender person.
That said, these are personal issues- and all in all, it is not a bad book for the novice to pick up to become acquainted with safety practices, terminology, and what it means to be a 'bottom'. It's certainly one of the less problematic books I've come across, and with all things BDSM, safety is imperative- and this book states that very clearly.
