Ibi Zoboi is a master and I love everything she writes. Nigeria Sankofa Jones is an unforgettable protagonist, growing up under the thumb of her Black Nationalist father and The Movement. This YA novel reminded me of Safiya Sinclair’s memoir How to Say Babylon. I love Nigeria’s hero’s journey. This book is infused with ideas, smells, patterns, and so much love. Really beautiful. If the reviews put this at 13+ I’ll buy it for the library. But there is weed smoking and sex on page, all tastefully done
