sarahalyse 's review for:

Undying by Meagan Spooner, Amie Kaufman
4.0

Enjoyed this more than [b:Unearthed|25446297|Unearthed (Unearthed, #1)|Amie Kaufman|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1495338043s/25446297.jpg|45210048], I think Undying has a focused plot that kept the whole book moving from the beginning whereas Unearthed took a while to get into what as happening. Kept me racing ahead to see what happened next and think the addition of Neal was great.

Some of the twists were really good and came out of nowhere.
SpoilerBut I managed to figure out from the last book that the 'aliens' were actually the humans from the supposedly failed Centauri colony mission, I mean it was referenced heavily in the first book and even more so in here so, of course it's important and I feel that most readers are able to put two and two together.

The ending felt kind of flat because not all my questions were answered until the epilogue, thank god for that or I wouldn't have like it as much as I did. As always though Kaufman and Spooner's writing was great and the world building was interesting and I would have liked to have learnt more about the environmental and political state of Earth but it is what it is.

All in all definitely recommend for anyone who likes YA sci fi with an archaeological spin.
