Vision in White
by Nora Roberts
This is the first book in the "Bride Quartet" series by Nora Roberts. It's about four friends who own and operate a wedding planning service called Vows. They live on an estate one of the friends inherited where events are held and each woman lives in separate quarters. Each friend handles something different - photography, flowers, cakes, and planning. This was the first book I've read by Roberts. It was an enjoyable contemporary romance. There's lots of "girlfriend" stuff - consoling one another, eating ice cream, retail therapy, etc. This first book focuses on the romance between Mackensie (the photographer), a commitment-shy redhead who had a difficult childhood, and Carter, a quiet nice guy who is a teacher. Of course things come to a satisfactory conclusion. Other books in the series are Bed of Roses, Savor the Moment, and Happy Ever After. Fun light reading with lots of wedding details.
Update: I finished reading the other 3 books in the series - it was like getting sucked into watching a reality TV show. They all were pretty light - beautiful women and gorgeous men falling in love and having great sex while planning weddings. I enjoyed the codes used throughout the books while they talked back and forth on headsets during the weddings - MOH, MOB, BM, etc. (maid of honor, mother of bride, best man, etc. and some snarkier variations for the bridezillas).
