I liked it. It was not as happy as her two follow up books, but I liked that it was different from so much of the popular YA literature published nowadays. The characters were great. My heart just broke for the unfortunate situation Eleanor was in and her unfortunate family life. It is even more difficult when I think about other people in REAL life who are stuck in similar situations with that kind of life at home. It make me feel blessed about my life in comparison. There have been a lot of struggles in my life and I've often wished things were easier, but this story really put things in perspective for me.
