Nate and Emme live across the hall from one another and are opposites, casual friends. Nate is often coming to Emme's rescue when she locks herself out or sets a small fire, but it's Emme who has to rescue Nate when he gets the shock of his life. When their relationship takes a turn, Nate has to decide if he can face adversities from his past and change his outlook on commitments.

Like Melanie Harlow's other books, she has a nice touch with a light-hearted story that has emotional undertones.
