A number of years ago when I was about to graduate from university I looked for books that were hopeful and even ended up asking some librarians online for recommendations. This, this would've been the book I was looking for!

This book feels like the antithesis or antidote to A Little Life. It does a lot of the same things: looking at snippets of people's lives, talking about love and friendship and found family but it does it all in ways that are just absolutely infused with hope and love and art.

It took me a few months to read it because sometimes it was so incredibly lovely it broke my heart a little that my life did not look exactly like that of Ulysses, Evelyn, Cress, Pete and Alyse.

All I could think during so much of this book was that this is what life is about: Loving each other, becoming overcome by art, picking yourself back up again, and I think somewhat importantly, taking care of small moments that maybe aren't so small.

I think I could go on about this book forever, I just want to thrust it into the hands of everyone I know. All I can end with is a plea, please read it!!!
