I went into this book only thinking it was about hockey. So when the main plot device took place I was completely caught off guard! The book was dark, yet realistic. Super honest and emotional. Makes you put yourself in the shoes of the characters and ask yourself would you just stand by for the good of the club or would you do the morally correct thing? What would you do if it was your child? You of course think undoubtedly you would do the right thing but when you’re in a community such as Beartown can you be so sure? Can you blame a 15 year old for staying silent? Great book but covers heavy topics so check your trigger warnings. Definitely takes a look at the idea of “silence is taking the side of the oppressor”
