Wisdom of the Bullfrog: Leadership Made Simple by William H. McRaven

informative inspiring reflective fast-paced

5.0

Admiral McRaven is a national treasure and brilliant leader who led the raid to capture Osama bin Laden among other positions he held as a 4 star Admiral. His leadership lessons in this book are perfectly rendered, with illustrative stories, and completely applicable to any situation in which a leader finds herself. Work hard, work harder, listen, take care of your troops, execute the mission, act with integrity, work harder-it’s all here and immediately applicable to leadership conundrums large and small. Admiral McRaven divides his lessons in this book into words of wisdom or the Wisdom of the Bullfrog, simple phrases like You Can’t Surge Trust and Hope is Not a Strategy in which he illustrates his leadership points.  These lessons from the Admiral are rendered with thoughtfulness and excellence and are useful for people at all levels of leadership. I am thankful to my friend Judy Campbell who got this book for me from the Rancho Mirage Writer’s Festival, where she saw  Admiral McRaven and asked him to sign it to me.
