As we all know there's much hype around this book both because Jennifer Hartmann is so well loved and because Tiktoks booktok king Strelly is on the cover. Well I went in with low expectations and wow was I surprised. Knowing her books are generally quite dark I wasn't sure if I would enjoy them. I also found the synopsis hard to gauge if I would be interested in it but I was obsessed.
For sure there are A LOT of trigger warnings for this book and in all honesty if I read the trigger warning I may not have picked this book up because some of it was rather close to home and triggering for me but that did not stop me from loving it.
I loved both of the characters and their development and adored the side characters as well, well most. It was very very emotional and intense. Not for the faint of heart but needless to say I will be picking up more books by this author.
