The Bride by Julie Garwood

5.0

Amazing setting and fabulous characters. I have a new favourite!!

“I didn’t particularly want to marry you either, Kincaid.”

“I noticed.”

“You did?”

She actually seemed surprised. Alec let her see his exasperation. “You wore a black gown to your wedding,” he reminded her.

I'm really very annoyed with myself right now. I've had this sitting on my 'to read' shelf for the longest time and I can't for the life of me understand why I've only just read it. Absolutely delightful. I adored both Alec and Jamie. I can't even begin to pick which one of them was my favourite. Jamie is sassy and hilarious and Alec is alpha male goodness with a soft heart. It's all a bit insta and very bodice ripper and that just made it all the better for me.

“Oh, God, Daniel looks as if he wants to kill me,” Mary whispered, moving closer to her sister’s side.

“Smile, Mary, it will confuse him,” Jamie instructed.

The humor though is what puts this on my favourite shelf. If I wasn't laughing I was smiling constantly. Such a feel good read.

She closed her eyes to keep herself from crying. Her voice shook with emotion when she said, “You’ve made Andrew a very rich man.”

“No, Jamie. I’m much richer. I have you.”

Note:OMG I just realised that I was like 6 when these were originally published. That's amazing. Historical's age so well, which is an odd thing to say! :D
