A Rule Against Murder by Louise Penny
4.0

I love these so much. Though let the record reflect that this book did not improve my opinion of Peter Morrow.
SpoilerReine-Marie was in this one! Gamaches' anniversary in a big lodge in the mountains they visit every year. Same three core staff forever. Rude/rich family is there who turns out to be Peter M's family and they're all mostly terrible. Clara and Peter sort of switch roles when they show up (clean/confident versus disheveled). Statue of dead dad falls on little sister SOMEHOW?? (with honey or something). The main staff man did it because sister's husband screwed his family. Peter's dad loved them but their mom didn't maybe? Beauvoir hates the woods, is into chef woman who used to be famous on TV with a cooking show. Little child Bean doesn't fly but sings by themself and Gamache saves Bean on the roof and Beauvoir saves Gamache. Oh also Gamache's dad was a coward in wartime but took it back later but people know and dislike him and Daniel his son wants to name their kid Honore after him (but they have a girl so it's a nonissue).
