Finding Chika: A Little Girl, an Earthquake, and the Making of a Family by Mitch Albom
5.0
This book tore my heart out. Wholly and absolutely.
I remember reading Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet in Heaven and Tuesdays with Morrie in high school. I had always loved his writing style and his penchant for being able to tell a story that allowed you a look into his personal thoughts and feelings, however brief.
I had no idea he founded an orphanage in Haiti. I had no idea he took into his care a sweet little girl and was so invested in her journey.
I am astounded at how well he managed to share this particular personal journey and make it as if I knew Chika personally, as I felt her loss so poignantly. This was a phenomenal story that will remain with me for many years to come.
