Unearthed by Meagan Spooner, Amie Kaufman

5.0

Firstly, I loved the dynamic of this book. It was fun, exciting and the characters were perfect. I never knew I needed this space, action-adventure in my life, but now that I have it, I won't be letting it go. IT'S MINE.

Both Jules and Mia were fun characters with diverse backgrounds and personalities. Mia, who is smuggled aboard to scavenge the newly discovered planet meets up with the intelligent Jules, who has been sent on a mission to discover the Undying temple. The Undying being a race of aliens that have unfortunately gone extinct.

This story is hilarious, Amie and Meagan did a marvelous job in shaping this novel. I found it to be an easy read, nothing that would pump your heart and have you on the edge of your seat. It was a book that grabbed my attention and kept it. I do wish that the scenes in Unearthed pushed your intrigue further, made you thoroughly fear the survival of Mia and Jules, but it was one of those books where you could predict the ending of the main characters.

Despite that predictability, the rest of the book remained unknown. I never was able to guess what was happening nest, or where exactly the story was trying to go, and that was something I've missed about reading. I find that too many books these days are incredibly predictable, and even though that's not a major downfall for me, I wish that more books would leave a surprise in the mix.

The characterisation of this novel was amazing. All of the characters, even the extras, felt real. I could relate to every single one of them and it was perfect. I thought the plot was fabulous, despite the small predictability. It was a fabulous book in my mind.
