The Inheritance Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin
4.0

Jemisin's story telling is richly visual and full of sensory references, and these were excellent books to read in the midst of the pandemic winter because I got to go somewhere else while I was reading them. I spent every Tuesday evening doing SSR with these books (and other times of the week), with a fireplace, a blanket, and some tea. The worlds Jemisin creates and populates pulled me in and kept me interested throughout this lengthy series. I am currently missing the characters in the third book a few weeks after finishing. These books brought to bear some thought-provoking ideas about culture and theology in the context of well told stories. If the fantasy genre is your jam, this is a must read. Even if it isn't, I would still recommend.
