The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane
4.0

A young soldier, Henry Fleming, enlists as a soldier during the civil war. He questions himself during the start if he will be able to be brave during the fierce fight. This book shows how ugly a war is and what could be going through the soldiers head as they fight. Everything is intense.

One may question what real bravery is. To me, Henry Fleming taught me that bravery is being able to stand up no matter how many times you had fallen or had attempted to run away. Running away might be an image of cowardice but it’s only a sign of being human. All of us had attempted or really had run away from something right? t might shame us, or make us realize about a lot of things but still, we are able to learn from it.
