This was cute! I really enjoyed Felipé’s journey with body image and self-worth. His relationships with both Caio and his mom were very sweet, and it was nice to see an MMC in a YA book participate in therapy so unabashedly. I was glad that none of those factors were shown to be quick fixes for the problems Felipé was facing but rather aspects of his life that enriched his well-being and provided the mental and emotional support for Felipé to do the internal work he needed to do. It was clear at the end of book that Felipé still had room to grow but was on a better path than when the story began.

My only complaint was that I had a difficult time remembering how old Felipé and Caio were meant to be because the way they spoke and behaved came across a bit younger. This could, in part, be a result of the book's translation from Portuguese to English, and it didn't bother me enough to really impede my enjoyment to any major degree, but it was something I noticed frequently throughout.
