The Autobiography of Malcolm X by Malcolm X, Alex Haley

3.0

I liked the beginning of the book a lot because it was so unlike what I'd expected. I did get a little bored in the middle with the constant barrage of white men are the devil speak. However, I must say that the end of the book made it all worth-while. I appreciate how his perspective was altered so greatly through his travels. I think it occurs for everyone who leaves their homeland and experiences life outside of a known reality. I would recommend this book. I also loved the epilogue by the author where he provides even more of an unfiltered look at Malcolm X's life during the creation of the book. There is one line in the book, a disclaimer towards the end where you'll say to yourself, wow he was right about how his legacy would be perceived in the American public in the future-gave me chills.
