This wonderful travel/adventure book is actually three stories woven together. First chronologically is the story of Pizarro's conquest of the Inca. Second and third are the author's retracing of explorer Hiram Bingham's journey through Peru interspersed with Bingham's story, writings, and photos.

A real treasure for armchair adventurers, Indiana Jones wannabes, ancient American end archeology enthusiasts.
