What Kind of Paradise is a gripping, emotionally layered novel about a girl raised off the grid by a father whose radical beliefs spiral into violence. Jane’s sheltered world unravels when she uncovers long-buried truths about her family, including the shocking revelation that her mother is still alive. The story explores the tension between love and betrayal, and how far we’ll go to protect, or to escape from, those we’re bound to. The mix of suspense plus the coming-of-age journey was so perfectly balanced, I couldn’t put the book down and ultimately finished it in a day.
