The War I Finally Won by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley
4.0

I can see why this book won so many awards. The perspective of the protagoist was one that is not heard enough in literature. I would love to use this in the middle school classroom but worry about the actions of the mother and how to address her neglect and treatment with her children. While it is realistic, I worry about it triggering students.
