Orlando by Virginia Woolf

1.0

First, I would like to say that I appreciate what this book is doing, and I 100% believe it was ahead of its time, and that is where my praise ends.

Orlando is probably one of the most boring and confusing books I've ever read. I did not like it. Orlando (the main character) becomes a woman after a 300 year sleep, and then learns how to navigate society, coming to terms with her gender and sexuality. This is such an interesting premise, but the plot is very confusing, and after each chapter I had to read the sparknotes so I actually knew what was happening. If a book makes me feel dumb while reading it, then I don't want to read it.

Overall, this book was a chore to read, and I got no enjoyment out of it whatsoever. It hasn't crossed my mind since I finished it, and I wont be picking up anything else by Woolf. I would honestly rather watch paint dry.
