Age of Reptiles Omnibus, Vol. 1 by Ricardo Delgado

Wow... not sure if this will make sense, but this book was like the Battle of Hastings in the Land Before Time, written like if Owly were in the Bayeux Tapestry. That's perfectly clear, right? Even without words, this took a little bit of time to read- my brain had to work even harder to figure out what was going on, who was whom, and it was a real adjustment to read a comic about dinosaurs that weren't anthropomorphized. The art was stunning, really, and each page had a wealth of detail to take in. While I'm not into dinosaurs or the circle of life, I found myself marveling at this book. I could see it being really appealing to reluctant male readers, maybe of the middle school age. There's definitely some fights and general carnivory (yep, that's a word now- car NIV a ree), but I think they'd love it.
