Pretties
by Scott Westerfeld
Three stars.
Pretties continues on from Uglies, with Tally becoming a pretty in order to test the cure. Firstly I loved that there was basically no David in his book! Yay! I also liked Zane and thought he was an improvement but would've liked if maybe at the end it hadn't been implied that the boys had caused her to become who she is, not herself choosing who she is cause she's awesome. This book was interesting and kept me reading though did get to feel a bit like a repeat of the previous one. In some ways it was a better book then the first but let down by making the same mistakes, such as not really coming to the conclusion that everyone doesn't have to be pretty or beauty can be anything. Overall a worthwhile read and a series I will probably be finishing.
