The Change by Kirsten Miller

3.75

Overall I enjoyed the story & the different flashbacks and how all the side characters were tied together.
especially the welsh/Rocca connection, although wtf happene  to Amber & her family? No explanation after the phone call w/ Jo?
I enjoyed the feminist, women helping women storyline but at times the dialogue was cheesy & it was too in your face feminist. I think the story spoke for itself & the overtly feminist spell it out lines about burning down the patriarchy were redundant. At times I also felt like the book was a lot longer than it needed to be, but it all came together
when Leonard was revealed to be a part of it & it felt like a more rounded story when it was more a human trafficking ring than a serial killer story
I also really liked all three women separately but some of their conversations were cringey, particularly the way Harriet & Jo both babied Nessa. I really liked Nessa but the only relationship of Nessa's that felt genuine was Franklin & even at times that one was cringe. I kept going back and forth on whether I was enjoying it. Overall I liked it but I kept getting pulled out of the story & found myself rolling my eyes with some of the over the top rampages.
