This was tough. The book does have a heavy tone about halfway through and covers a significant period of depression. I was definitely uncomfortable reading those bits, as I usually avoid books that reflect the difficult parts of life. I like to read for escapism. It was a good reminder for me, though. It also served as a way to process some of my own issues. I would not qualify this as a romance book in any form. I feel it was mismarketed and/or incorrectly recommended. But I enjoyed the story despite my many times yelling at the protagonist and getting irate about her ignorance of noncompete rules (surely Parsons had here sign a noncompete, right??)
Moderate: Suicidal thoughts, Panic attacks/disorders, and Mental illness
