“Married couples always think they know their partners better than anyone else—especially when they have a couple of years under their belts—but that doesn’t mean it is true.”
🔀 non-linear timeline
👥 POV: multiple POV
🐎 Pace: medium
What I loved were the twists! As each reveal came I was left more and more shocked, but these were done in the perfect way so that I felt it made sense in retrospect. The chapters were short and easy to breeze through which helped make the pacing feel quicker than I had anticipated. The setting for most of the story is in the Scottish Highlands during a winter storm with such vivid descriptions I felt like I was there.
What I wasn’t a fan of was that the ending left me wondering what would come next, and I wish that had been flushed out just a little more. Nonetheless, I still found overall the story to have a satisfying ending.
I really needed this book! After reading quite a few books that just didn’t work, I found this book to be a breath of fresh air. I would absolutely recommend this if you’re a domestic thriller reader in look for something quick to dive into.
