Rilla of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery
2.0
Anne is all but gone from the Green Gables books (which haven't taken place in Avonlea for quite some time). She has fully disappeared in the role of mother. This Rilla book is also very different in tone because it chronicles all of WWI. It isn't the joyous, beautiful type of book anymore that provides scope for the imagination. It's packed with pro-war, patriotic nonsense throughout.
